Nebraska History of Phi Beta Mu

Phi Beta Mu International Fraternity invited Nebraska to become a chapter in 1998. Linda Donahue and William Winkle were instrumental in establishing the Nebraska Chapter.

The charter ceremony was held on March 7th, 1998 in Room 107 of the Westbrook Music Hall, University of Nebraska. Mr. James Slutz, Terre Haute, Indiana International Editor of the Phi Beta Mu Newsletter publication; and David Pennington, Temple, Texas, member of the International Board of Directors were present to conduct the ceremony. On behalf of International President Keith Mann, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, invitations were extended to selected outstanding Nebraska Band directors to become Charter Members of Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity.
